Mrs Donald J. Duncan, Masterton, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs C. Rea has returned to Featherston after a holiday spent at Lake Ferry. In the recent elocution examinations Miss Josie Dennes, of Greytown, passed with honours in higher local,theory. Mrs P. Bouzaid; of Eketahuna is on a visit to Greytown.
Miss Crosbie, of Pirinoa, and recently of the Wellington Teachers’ Training College, has been appointed assistant at the Featherston School.
Miss Ngakaraihe Pakau, of Tongariro, who has been the guest of Miss S. Polson, Bannister Street, Masterton, for the school vacation left for her home yesterday. Miss Stella Polson, teacher at the Native School, Tongariro, who has been staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs C. J. Polson, Bannister Street, Masterton, returned north yesterday. ENGAGEMENT. BELL—JONES. The engagement is announced of Dorothy May, third daughter of Mr and Mrs Jones, 180 Dixon Street, Masterton, to George Hector, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Bell, Mount Bruce Road, Master ton.
