CRIPPLED CHILDREN
ACTIVITIES OF WAIRARAPA • SOCIETY.
The Wairarapa Crippled Children Society is actively prosecuting its work in the interests of the children of the district. A meeting of the executive was held yesterday afternoon. The chairman, Mr E. M. Hodder, presided and there were also present Mrs H. E. Pither, Nurse Hodges, Sister M. T. Stewart. Mrs Kilgour and Messrs R. C. Drummond and L. F. Gray (secretary). Mr Hodder extended a welcome to Sister Stewart, who had recently taken up a position at the Masterton Hospital and said the society greatly appreciated her offer of assistance. Several letters were received from crippled children thanking the society for Christmas gifts they had received. The society decided to apply for acorrespondence course in dress-making for a crippled girl. Another girl had left Masterton to be admitted to the Wellington Hospital for treatment and two others would go as soon as vacancies were available. It was resolved to send a letter to Miss Brockett expressing the society’s appreciation of her services in teaching handcrafts to the children in Masterton Hospital.
