“NEW YEAR LUCK”
ART UNION DRAW FIRST PRIZE TO OAMARU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The two principal prizes in the “New Year Luck” art union, drawn in Wellington yesterday, were won by women. The first prize of £2OOO went to , Mrs D. Sprigg, Frome Street, Oamaru, and the second prize of £5OO to an Auckland ticket-holder. The fourth prize of £ 100 was won in Petone. More than half the £lO prizes were distributed among the four chief centres. At the drawing, Mr J. Hutchens represented the Department of Internal Affairs, and Sergeant W. J. Brown the police. The prize list is as follows: — First Prize, £2OOO. 127596, Mrs D. Sprigg, Frome Street, Oamaru. Second Prize, £5OO. 10621, Mrs R.J.P., 27 Millais Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Third Prize, £2OO. 111097, “Xmas Box,” Waihi. Fourth Prize, £lOO. 197531, “False Set,” 21 Street Petone. Fifth Prize, £75. 194445, “Chewing Gum,” Waimate. A £lO prize was won by “Lucky 13,” Masterton. Among the winners of £5 prizes were Miss Fairchild, 62 Colombo Road, Masterton, “Don,” Masterton, “Mrs Masterton,” Masterton; L.
