CENTENNIAL ATTRACTIONS
ATHLETIC, CYCLING & AXEMEN’S SPORTS MEETING. CONFERENCE OF UNION HELD IN BLENHEIM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. January 29. The bi-annual conference of the New Zealand Athletic. Cycling and Axemen's Union was held at Blenheim over the weekend, when delegates from all branches were present. A large number of remits, dealing with revision of the rules, were dealt with. It was resolved to arrange a championship cash sports meeting in conjunction with the centennial celebrations and to apply to participate in the profits from the proposed sports art union.
Mi 1 A. J. Fisher, of Blenheim, was elected a life member of the Union. The election of officers resulted: —President. Mr H. H. Fraser, of Timaru; vice-presidents. Messrs A. J. Fisher, of Blenheim, J. T. Quaker, of Gore, W. J. Walker, of Christchurch, J. Colling* wood, of Wanganui, C. Church, of Gisborne. G. E. Perkins, of Greymouth. D. George, of New Plymouth. J. Coffey, of Christchurch, G. R. Cook, of Waipukurau; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr A. D. Macartney, of Napier.
