CONVEYANCE OF SHEEP

NEW REGULATIONS DISCUSSED BY FARMERS. ACTION TO COMBAT THIEVING. The recently introduced conveyance if sheep regulations were discussed by Mr A. T. P. Hubbard, Stock Inspector. Department of Agriculture, at today's meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union. The president, Mr H. Morrison, said '.hat the regulations had been framed at the request of the Farmers’ Union which had become seriously concerned at prevalence of sheep stealing hV* some parts of New Zealand.

Mr Hubbard, in explaining the regulations in detail, said that they applied only to sheep conveyed by mo-tor-lorries. The regulations were now in force and under them the farmer had a responsibility. A number of points in the regulations were the subject of criticism by several members.
