WORKER CONTACTS WITH HIGH

TENSION WIRES

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, This Day.

Coming into contact with the main transmission line from Arapuni, while working at a Public Works electrical sub-station at Mareretu. near Paparoa. yesterday afternoon, H. C. Young, married, of Hikurangi, received severe burns from which he died in the Whangarci Hospital at midnight. He was a relieving attendant at the sub-sta-tion. He is understood to have been working on a step-ladder painting electrical equipment near the main high tension wires when the accident occurred. The wife of another employee saw his clothes catch on fire, ran for assistance and extinguished the flames with water. Suffering from burns on the chest, neck and face. Young was rushed to the Whangarei Hospital in an ambulance.
