OMINOUS TONE TAKEN BY PAPERS NEW FRONTIERS FOR FRANCE. COMMAND OF MEDITERRANEAN CLAIMED. (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) ROME. January 27. The newspapers ominously follow up the fall of Barcelona with an unanimous declaration that Italy has succeded in establishing another frontier for France. “11 Tevere” says: “Now, thanks to the Italian navy, not a single French ship or soldier is able to cross the Mediterranean.”
