PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) . Mrs. Petersen, senr., ' has returned home from a visit to her daughter, Mrs W. Fulton. Mrs Alec Rogers, of Sydney, who had been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. Fulton, Kohinui, has returned to Australia. Obituary. The death occurred at Palmerston North on Wednesday of Mr George McAnulty, third son of the late Mr and Mrs Francis McAnulty, of Eketahuna, at the age of 58 years. Greathead Tennis Cup. The draw for the Greathead Cup competition is as follows:— First Round. —Hastwells v. Kaiparoro, at Kaiparoro; Nireaha v. Rongokokako, at Rongokokako. Second Round. —Nireaha v. Kaiparoro, at Nireaha; Hastwells v. Rongokokako, at. Hastwells. Third Round. —Kaiparoro v. Rongokokako, at Kaiparoro; Hastwells v. Nireaha, at .Nireaha, The first round will bo played on February 5, weather permitting, with a furtner round every suitable weekend from that date. Teams are to comprise not less than 12 players; six men and six ladies. Points for the Cup will be scored as follow: For a win, 2 points; for a draw, 1 point. Tararua Rifle Club. The Tararua Rifle Club’s final match for the Hercock Cup was won by Rifleman R. Farrow after a shoot-off with Rifleman S. Blewett. The championship was won by Rifleman C. Sigvertsen, who put up the fine score of 101. Rifleman G. Day was one point behind with 100, this being his first shoot of the season, a fine performance. The day was fair with a fairly strong nor’west wind blowing, but some of the shooters seemed to handle it. The scores were: —

Demand for Good Lambs. At the Eketahuna stock sale yesterday there was keen competition for good lines of lambs, while even medium sorts sold well. Forward b.f. lambs and shorn wether lambs were mostly sought after, and for quality it was the best sale of the year. The Welch Estate topped the market for wether lambs at 14s Bd.
