FLIGHT FROM CITY BY LAND AND WATER CONTINUOUS SHELLING AND AIR-RAIDING (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) BARCELONA, January 25. The roar of artillery is louder and houses are crumbling. The Republicans are continuing their retreat and endeavouring to form new lines. Colonel Romero has been appointed as officer command- • ing the city defences. , The Moroccans have occupied the outer suburbs ol Hospitalet and Casa Antunez. A panic flight from the city continues and the harbour is crowded with boats laden to the gunwales with refugees trying desperately to board the few merchantmen remaining in port. Scores of overcrowded boats have overturned. Ambulances are rushing back and forth in the streets. Shelling and air raiding is continuous. The rebels have taken Solsons.
