The next competition will be fired over the 800 yards range for Mr. R. Donald’s trophy. Personal. Mr and Mrs S. Brooker and family have been Wellington visitors to Featherston.
The Rev J. C. W. Mutter and Mrs Mutter were Palmerston North visitors to Featherston yesterday. Valda Downes, who until recently was also a pupil of the local district high school, and has since been attending the district high school at Raurimu, passed the recent University Entrance examination.
A former pupil of the Featherston District High School, Norina C. C. Shepherd, who has been attending Queen Margaret’s College for the last two years, and who passed in Latin at the recent University Entrance examination, is to be congratulated on her success, as she had been learning Latin for only one year.
Among the successful matriculation candidates who sat at various centres were the following:—Medical preliminary. Norma C. Shepherd (Wellington); matriculation, William H. Rowles, John Lawson (Silverstream), John S. Raper, Graham N. Perry (v/ellington). WEDDING. MUTTER—WILSON. A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Terrace End, Palmerston North, on Monday, when the Rev. John C. W. Mutter, was married to Miss Nellie Leila Wilson, of Inglewood.
