LONDON BUTTER MARKET SLOW.' The Lpndon butter market was slow throughout last week, New Zealand finest salted closing at 125 s to 126 s an advance of 2s a cwt since Friday, January 13. According to the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board, last Friday’s closing prices, with those of the previous wook in parentheses, were as follows:— New Zealand, salted. 125 s to 126 s (123 s to 1245; a year ago. 109 s to 110 s); unsalted. 1275, 128 s to 129 s (1265: a year, ago, 112 s to 114 s). Australian, salted. 121 s 1/j 122 s (122 s to 1235); unsaltod, 124 s to 125 s (123 s to 1245). Argentine, unsalted. 116 s to 118 s (116 s to 118 s). Danish. 117 s f.0.b.. 138 s to 140 s spot (1225; 144 s to 1455). Dutch, unsalted. 122 s to 1245, ex 127 s (1245). Lithuanian, unsalted, 126 s (120 s Polish, salted. 121 s; unsaltod. 120 s to 121 s. South Africa. 118 s to 120 s (118 s to 120 s). The London equivalent of the New Zealand guaranteed price is 124 s 3d a cwt. The retail price of New Zealand butter was expected to advance to Is 3d a lb. That of Danish butter was unchanged at Is 5d a lb. Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week wore 1355 tons. The quantity in store on Friday. in-| eluding 667 tons ex Arawa. was 4025 tons, as against 4894 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter from store last week were 2249 tons; the quantity in store on Friday was 6795 tens, as against 2377 tons a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committee estimated that stocks of all butters in store totalled 638.518 boxes, as compared with 334.908 boxes at this time last year. The cheese market was quiet last week New Zealand closing at 69s 6d to 70s a cwt as against 70s the previous week. Friday's closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand, white, 69s (id to 70s (70s; a year ago. 69s to 69s 6d); coloured, 69s 6d to 70s (70s; a year ago, 69s 6d to 70s). Australian, white, 62s to 65s (65s to 675); coloured, 64s to 66s (64s to 665). Canadian, white, 72s to 74s <7ls to

South African, white and coloured. 675. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 9435 crates, the quantity in store on Friday being 43,148 crates, as against 50,985 crates a year ago. Deliveries of Canadian cheese last week were 6815 boxes, the quantity remaining in store on Friday being 136,387 boxes, as against 118.G31 boxes n year ago.
