The five titles in the New Zealand junior tennis championships, which concluded in Wanganui today in ideal conditions, were won by Auckland players with the assistance of J. Smith (North Auckland) in the boys’ doubles. Apart from the girls’ doubles final, the matches today did not provide even or exciting tennis, all the winners of titles having easy victories in the final matches. Auckland won the Wilding Banner, the singles titles giving them a lead of two points on Wellington. Results: — BOYS’ SINGLES. Final. —A. Burns (Auckland) beat R. McKenzie (Wellington), 6-0. 6-0. GIRLS’ SINGLES. Final: B. Potter (Auckland), beat D. Elsom (Canterbury), 6-1. 6-2. BOYS’ DOUBLES. Final: A. Burns and J. Smith (North Auckland) beat I. Thompson and H. Johnston (Waikato). 6-1, 6-2. GIRLS’ DOUBLES. Semi-final: Misses D. Elsom and F. Fleetwood (Canterbury) beat Misses W. Smith (North Auckland) and J. Wallace (Auckland). 4-6, 6-2. 6-4. Final: Misses M. and A. Hodges (Auckland) beat Misses Elsom and Fleetwood. 8-6. 6-4. MIXED DOUBLES. Final: Burns and Miss Hodges beat F Haddock (Waikato) and Miss B. Potter (Auckland). 6-2, 6-1.
