LONDON PRICES EASIER

LAMB MARKET SLOW

Lamb market: Trade slow owing to muggy weather and heavier supplies; prices shade easier. Mutton market, wethers weaker, excepting lightweights, owes, prices unchanged, but trade dull. Beef market: Frozen beef slighty easier for fores; chilled beef, lower this week, due to less consumption. New Zealand porker pigs: Lightweights unchanged. others easier. New Zealand baconer pigs: Weaker owing to lowei prices Continental bacon. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following arc the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods sold Thursday. North Island 2nd quality lambs, av. 30/311bs, 7 : ;d per lb; best North Island wether sheep, under 481 b, 4:;d per lb; 48/56. 4d; 56/64 4d; 64/72, 4d. North Island ewes, under 481bs, 3d per lb; 48/sG’s, 25-8 d; 56/64’s, 2Ad; G4/72’s, 2 3-Bd. N.Z. prime ox beef, 160/220 lbs, none offering. Compared with last week’s quotations all grades of lamb arc 1 -8d per lb lower; wethers, 48/721bs, l-8d per lb lower; others unchanged. The demand for lamb is limited and the prices are likely to decline in the near future. The mutton market continues weak all round.
