LONDON'S SHIPPING
During the week ended December 9. 951 vessels, representing 1.056.113 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these, 549 vessels (865,447 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 402 vessels (190,666 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included five meat cargoes, viz., two from Australia and three from South America, comprising 87,000 carcases of lamb and mutton. 102.000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits and sundries. Twenty-four timber laden vessels docked in the Surrey Commecial Docks with 48.000 tons of softwood. Thirty-two vessels totalling 330,183 gross register ions, used the passenger landing stage during November.
