POPULAR HOCKEY PLAYER
GUEST OF HONOUR AT PARTY. A valued and popular member of the Excelsior Ladies’ Hockey Club, Miss Nancy Rutherford, who is to be married on Saturday, January 28, was the guest of honour at a party held in the Savage Club Rooms last night. There was a large attendance and a most enjoyable time-was spent in dancing. During the course of the evening, Mr W. Harding, president of the Excelsior Hockey Club, presented Miss Rutherford with a handsome eight-day chiming clock, suitably inscribed. Mr Harding conveyed the club’s congratulations to Miss Rutherford and wished her every happiness and prosperity in the future. He referred to the valuable services she had rendered the club over a number of years, both as a player and an official. Mr. Arthur Southey suitably replied on behalf of Miss Rutherford, who was accorded musical honours.
