DISTRICT SPORTS CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Mauriceville District Sports Club held its annual general meeting in the Mauriceville East Hall. There was a large ana enthusiastic gathering o.: member.-'.

A motion was carried electing Mr and Mrs W. H. Bird life members of the Club in recognition of their long and faithful services in the club’s interests.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —President. Mi' D. Bennett (re-elected); deputy-president. Mr R. A. Cameron (re-elected); joint secretaries and treasurers, Messrs. D. Cameron and J. Bennett.

The annual report, which was signed by Mr D. Bennett (chairman) on behalf of the committee, stated: Your committee has much pleasure in presenting the annual report and balance sheet for the year ended October 31. 1938. Due to the fact that our meeting last year clashed with the Castlepoint races, which afiectcd several items of revenue, notably the entries in the horse events, the club has to record a loss of over £lO on the year's working. The Committee desires to place on record its thanks to all who assisted with entries and donations; to the Ladies’ Committee for their invaluable assistance; to Mr A. E. Clarke for the use of his grounds; to the judges and officials; to the Press; and to all who assisted them with the sports and dance. We hope for your continued assistance and co-operation in the ensuing year.

At a subsequent committee meeting it was decided to hold the annual meeting on Saturday, March 4, and a comprehensive programme of events was drawn up.
