PIG IRON DISPUTE
HOPES OF SETTLEMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. January 19. Negotiations for the settlement of the Port Kembla pig-iron dispute will be renewed on Tuesday. The Prime Minister (Mr Lyons) and the AttorneyGeneral (Mr Menzies) will await the outcome of a mass meeting of waterside workers in Port Kembla tomorrow, at which representative union leaders will urge the men to accept the original terms of the settlement.

A new hope for the settlement of the pig iron dispute arose when a meeting of unions at Woollongong last night unanimously recommended acceptance of the terms providing for loading of the Dalfram, and the withdrawal of wharf licences and arranged for a deputation to the Federal Premier and the Attorney-General to discuss future exports of pig iron.
A vital meeting of Port Kembla watersiders will be held tomorrow to decide whether the terms are acceptable.
