The following report appeared in the Wairarapn “Daily Times" of January 17. 1914: —“Some Masterton residents made a fast run from Wellington last night. The journey to Masterton was accomplished in 2 i | hours, the hill being taken on the high gear." There are motorists today who would consider that time “dead slow.’’
