DANNEVIRKE KENNEL CLUB

ANNUAL SHOW. The annual show of the Dannevirke Kennel Club is held annually in conjunction with the Dannevirke A. and P. Society’s fixture and is a conspicuous feature thereof. All recognised breeds are catered for. The sole judge will be Mr Norman Wade, of Auckland. In addition to prize money in cash a number of valuable special trophies are to be won. There are special cups for English setters, cocker spaniels, and both smooth and wire haired —have, greyhounds, while the fox terriers — four challenge cups and a special challenge trophy to compete for. In Pekingese a challenge cup, for best New Zealand bred Pekingese bitch, will be competed for for the first time, while toy dogs, Pomeranians, Alsatians, Bulldogs and show Collies all have special challenge cups allotted to their sections. There are special classes for members of the New Zealand Collie Club, including the breeders’ cup class, and two challenge cups for working sheep dogs. The Kennel Club’s Show is excellently conducted, dogs sent from a distance receive every care and attention, they are well housed and looked after while at the show. Entries for the Kennel Club’s Show close at Dannevirke on January with the show secretary, box 38, Dannevirke, from whom copies of the special schedule and any information desired can be obtained.
