BEAUTY FOODS
RAISINS, FIGS AND DATES. Raisins, figs and dates are all beauty foods. They are fattening, to be sure, but not nearly so fattening as chocolate creams, and they contain valuable mineral substances. Plain milk is another beautifier. A star of the last generation kept her beauty by bathing in milk. • You need not bath in it. Drink it a lot, drink skimmed milk if you don’t want to get fat; drink it, cream and all, if you want to fatten out a little.
There are no more magic foods for beauty. I could tell you to try peacocks’ tongues or humming birds’ wings but what is the use? They would not help you. Carrots, which have a lot of iron in them, spinach, rich in minerals, peas and green beans, they will help you far more. Forget the frying pan. Never eat fried things. Don’t forget vegetables and fruit.
