NEW TENNIS COURTS
OPENING AT KAIPARORO. VISIT OF MINISTER OF LABOUR. The new tennis courts at Kaiparoro were officially opened on Saturday afternoon by the Minister of Labour, the Hon P. C. Webb. There was a large attendance of district settlers and visitors. and the gathering was a most enjoyable one. In addition to the Minister, speakers included the Mayor of Eketahuna, Mr W. Simpson, the patron of the club. Mr J. Robertson, M.P.. and Mr G. A. Hansen, president.
Mr Webb hit the first ball over the net to Mr Robertson, who later accepted a challenge by the Minister to jump the net. Both cleared it beautifully. At night a most enjoyable dance was held.
