GRASS FIRE.
("Times-Age” Special.)
The Grey town Fire Brigade received a call yesterday to a grass fire in a vacant section opposite the Working Men’s Club. It was soon suppressed.
Personal.
Mr and Mrs H. C. Trotman returned home yesterday after a motor tour of the thermal regions.
Mrs W. Hayman, of Lower Hutt, has returned home after spending a holiday with her parents Mr and Mrs J. Bonis. Grey town. Mr R. Clune has returned to Taumaranui after having been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Bonis, of Morison’s Bush.
Bowling Competition.
/rhe Greytown Club has started its championship singles competition. This will be played on the two-life system. So far Connolly has beaten Burden and Burns has defeated Bunny. Playing for the Gold Bars Higgison and Vile beat Curtis and Bunny by a narrow margin after a well fought game.
Street Grading.
The borough staff is at present engaged in grading Kuratawhiti Street which is later to be tarred.
