GALE DEFEATS BRIGADE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. An eight-roomed residence, owned by Mr B. E. Corrigan, with all its contents. at Brassey Road. St. John’s Hill, was totally destroyed by fire at 1.50 a.m.

The Fire Brigade was quickly on the scene, but a gale made it impossible to effect a save of the wooden building. The occupants left, at midday yesterday. on holiday. The insurance is not available.
