TEA CENTENNIAL
CELEBRATION IN LONDON. CASKET AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 10. £1156 was bid in London today for a casket containing about 371 b of Em-pire-grown tea. The money will go to a charity associated with the tea industry. The occasion was the celebration of the centennial of Empire teagrowing.
The Lord Mayor auctioned a sealed casket, which is not to be opened till the next centennial. A much larger casket of Empire tea inscribed with the Royal Arms was sent to the Palace for their Majesties.
