The court action by the Countess Stroganoff, a member of an ancient Russian family, against the Soviet Government for the recovery of £200,000 was begun today in Berlin. The countess claims that this was the sum paid by the buyers when the Soviet illegally sold part of the celebrated Stroganoff art collection, which included works by Rembrandt, Van Dyck and other old masters, in Berlin in 1931. The Russian commercial attache in Berlin is defending the action. CASE ADJOURNED. RUSSIA NOT REPRESENTED. BERLIN, January 10.
