DRUIDS’ LODGE

MEETING OF STONEHENGE No. 1. The fortnightly meeting of Stonehenge Lodge No. 1, was held on Monday night. A.D. Bro F. Gray presiding. On account of the holidays, the attendance was fair. The Bards reported that eight members were on the sick funds and that two members had recovered and returned to work. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £251 5s 9d were passed. It was reported that the Christmas Tree function this year was one of the best on record. The standard and value of toys presented to the children were higher than ever before and the catering arrangements were excellent. Votes of thanks were passed to Ihe sub-committees who controlled the function and to the ladies' committee for their valuable assistance. It was decided to write to Totara Lodge regarding the annual picnic for the combined Druids’ lodges. A handsome jewel was presented to P.A. Bro C. A. Pickering as a mark of the appreciation of the lodge for his many years’ of service. Bro Pickering, in thanking the members, expressed the hope that he would be able to continue taking an active part in lodge affairs for many years Io come.

A visiting member from Mungaroa Lodge, Upper Hutt, was extended a cordial welcome and thanked me members for their fraternal greetings.
