"The Times" Hendaye correspondent says though General Franco’s offensive seems to have slackened, it is incontestable, that, the loyalists front at -Segre has collapsed. The Aragonese, -advancing from Balaguer. smashed strong points in the loyalists defences and took fourteen, villages in one day, while the southern advance further jeopardises Mont Blanch, compelling, the construction by the loyalists of defences at Tortosa.

SIX KILLED & TWELVE WOUNDED
(Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) BARCELONA. January 9. Six persons were killed and twelve wounded in a bombing raid. Rescuers are seeking additional victims among extensive ruins.
