St Patrick’s Old Boys v Red Star B. At the college ground St Pat’s Old Boys won by 10 wickets. Red Star B, first innings, 38 (Thompson 15, Swain 13; Corlet 5 for 11; Brice 3 for 22, Cross 1 for 1); second innings, 108 (Corlet 29, Pauling 25, Pawson 17, Levens, not out 14, McCalmont 14; Corlet 2 for 4, Cross 2 for 11, Beals 2 for 18, Brice 2 for 24, Greenlees 1 for 87).
Red Star Av Oddfellows. This game was played at the College ground and was won by the Oddfellows. Scores: Oddfellows, first innings, 123 (Mooney, not out, 40, Dingle 35, Sturgeon 20, P. Smith 10; Reid took 5 wickets, Hatch 4, and Peers 1); second innings 9 wickets for 95 (P. Smith 30, Minifie 19, Hatch and Reid took 4 wickets each, and Wellington, 1). Red Star, first innings, 82 (James 21, Hatch 14, Wickens 11, Hayes 10; McGill 7 for 37, Sturgeon, 1 for 27). Old Boys v Martinborough. Old Boys won by 38 runs on the first innings. Scores:—Old Boys, first innings, 111 (Merrick 29, Tooby 25, Hording 17, Carruthers 14, Curtis 13, Rayner 10). Power, three for 18, Hamilton, three for 35, and Johns, two for 31. Martinborough, first innings 73 (Hancox 32, Murphy 24). McGregor took three wickets for 5, Tooby, three for 13, Merrick, two for 16, Kemnitz two for 33).
Carterton v Masterton. Played at Carterton. The local team secured a win. Scores: Carterton, first innings, 119 (Harp 22, Ewing 21, Byers 20, Kennedy 15, Thompson 13; Reid 7 for 89, Weir, 3 for 30). Masterton, first innings, 30, (Reid 14; Berry, 5 for 15, Ewing, 4 for 13); second innings, 7 for 112 (Weir 24, Minifie 24, Johnson, not out, 17, Young 12, Reid 11; Byers, Hays and Kennedy, took 2 wickets each, and Powell and Ewing one each).
