'They will be tried before a Military Court on charges of wilfully passing unauthorised and damaging messages across the frontier. The insurgents are alloting counsel. The "Daily Telegraph's” Hendaye cm respondent- says .Mr C. B. Jerram (Acting British Agent at Burgos) has been instructed to press for an explanation of the arrest and to do everything possible to assist Mr ana Mrs Golding. It is understood that the British Government is convinced of Mr Golding's innocence and would welcome a public trihl. It is understood to hr- alleged that a jettr-v mentioning Mr Golding contained the phrase, "If other routes are elcwd try a letter -.'is Mr Golding. ’a riling between the lines in invisible ink.’' This letter,, it is stated, was written by the husband of an executed woman, who is at present in. Barcelona. Mr Golding, it is added, claimed that the mention of invisible ink clearly exonerated him from complicity.
