MASTERTON HOSPITAL

NEW MATRON ARRIVES. Miss M. F. Barnett, recently appointed Matron of the Masterton Hospital. arrived in Masterton yesterday and assumed her duties today. Miss Barnett was formerly assistant Matron of the Christchurch Hospital, and she Was appointed to the position rendered vacant by the retirement on superannuation of Miss K. Barnitt. Applications for the position of fulltime Medical Superintendent at the Masterton Hospital, will close on Saturday next and will be considered by the Wairarapa Hospital Board at its meeting on January 18. It is unlikely, however, that an appointment will be made until the list has been submitted to the Health' Department. Five applications have been received so far.
