Stuffing for Pillows. To make soft porch pillows use your old worn-out stockings, cut into strips for stuffing. Facilitates Cleaning. A soft cloth about a yard square, placed under the dry mop, facilitates the cleaning of floors. The loose ends get the dust from around the furniture, and if the cloth is kept clean, it will not mar rugs and white woodwork as a soiled mop will. A Help in Hanging Curtains. Place a bent thimble over the end of your curtain rods, and you will 'find that the curtain slips on with ease. Stringing Beads. When stringing beads and the needle is not fine enough to go through the beeds dip the thread into musilage and twist straight and sharp, and let dry. It works easier. A Saving on Soap. Hard soap bought in quantities and allowed to dry out will not wash away as rapidly. Putty for the Kitchen Shelf. Keep some putty on the kitchen shelf to fill in cracks and holes that occasionally appear around the kink. It helps to keep vermin out.
