PERSONAL ITEMS. ' (“Times-Age” Special.) Miss Ivy Berry, Mangaweka, is spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs J. H. Berry. Mr and Mrs V. Heath, Dixon Street, Masterton, spent Christmas with Mr and Mrs M. Moynihan. Mr W. Pearson, Te Kuiti, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Harman, Tiraumea. Miss Z. Wardle is a Dannevirke visitor to Pongaroa. Mr and Mrs R. W. Kebbell, and Messrs D. and G. Kebbell, of Alfredton, spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs S. C. Humphries, “Wairakau.” Mi- and Mrs T. Gainey, of Wellington, are on a visit to Pongaroa. Miss Watson returned to Wellington today after spending New Year in Pongaroa. Mr and Mrs W. Murphy have as their guest Miss Murphy, of Sydney. Mr M. Wisely is the guest of Mr and Mrs L. Johnston.
Miss Davies, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Stevenson, Waihoki Valley. Mr and Mrs R. C. Satherly spent the weekend at Eastbourne.
Mr and Mrs Simington and family, Wellington, are visiting Mr and Mrs A. M. Theed. Akitio Beach. Akitio Beach proved a popular resort during the weekend, all the baches being fully occupied as well as many tents on the foreshore. One of the principal attractions was a cricket match between the local team and a Wanganui College eleven, played on Mr Frank Armstrong’s picturesque cricket ground. Much interest was also shown in the loading of wool on to a coastal boat, the bales being taken out into the surf by a team of bullocks. Yesterday the Dannevirke Silver Band visited the beach.
