RECORD WORLD PRODUCTION IN 1938. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, December 29. The “Daily Express” says that the world production of staple fibre in 1938 set a new record.with an estimated total of 858,000,0001 b compared with 622,000,0001 b in 1937 and 20,000,000 in 1932.. Increase in production is most marked in Germany, Italy and Japan where a reduction of wool consumption by some 700,000 bales between 1933 and 1937 is almost entirely due to the development of staple fibre.
