The comedian Stan Laurel’s wife, whom he married three times at civil, Russian and orthodox ceremonies, has filed a petition for divorce, alleging that her husband’s former wives constantly harassed her and caused the fire brigade to “come bursting into her home at ungodly hours.” She added that she was besieged with anonymous telephone calls and unsigned letters.
