JEAN HATTON ENTERS MOVIES
Jean Hatton, 16-year-old Australian songbird—she .was Australia’s Deanna Durbin —has her first foot upon the ladder of film fame. She has been chosen by Mr Ken. G. Hall for an important role in Cinesound’s new production, tentatively titled "Mr Chedworlh .Hits Out.”
Jean gets a flying start by appearing with Australia’s most popular star. Cecil Kellaway. He arrived from Hollywood on October 5 on loan from RKO Radio studios, and has commenced production on this new Cine sound picture. "Jean is possibly the best bet .fX film success that we have ever chosen," says Mr Ken. Hall. "In addition to her vcoal ability, which everybody knows from her radio broadcasts, she has a most natural and winning screen personality.” Little Miss Hatton regards her great chance enthusiastically, but with a more mature philosophy than you more mature philosophq than you urally I’m excited.” she says, "but I need more study in both dramatics and singing to be as good as I want to be."
