MOTOR ACCIDENTS

THREE PERSONS IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, December 28. Three patients arc in hospital in a serious condition as the result of motor accidents. Desmond Withell, aged six, a son of Mr and Mrs R. J. S. Withell. Ashburton, was run over by a car when emerging from the rear of another vehicle, receiving abdominal injuries, and also an injury to the head. The other victims, Norman Shannon aged 20, and Alan Benjamin Richards, aged 18, both of Rakaia, were injured when their motor-cycle collided with a car near Rakaia. Shannon received a broken leg, abrasions, and concussion and Richards concussion.

The hospital reported this evening that Desmond Withell’s condition was serious, and the others satisfactory.
