—— • “YELLOW JACK” NOW SHOWING. “Yellow Jack,” starring Robert Montgomery will be shown at the Regent Theatre tonight and torporrow night at 8 o’clock. “GIRL OF THE GOLDEN WEST.” It was only to be expected that the film specially made for Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy should be one of the most delightful the pair have ever made. They are starred in “Girl of the Golden West,” which opens tomorrow with a 10 p.m. matinee at the Regent Theatre. Briefly the story tells of a “Robin Hood”' of the West (Nelson Eddy) and his falling in love with a beautiful girl (Jeanette MacDonald) who owns and manages a saloon in a small township. He first falls in love with her when they are boy and girl. Years later he sees her again when he holds up a coach. Realising that if she knows he is a bandit his efforts to woo her will be repulsed, he poses as a lieutenant and escorts her to a fiesta. His charming personality completely wins the girl and romance begins to bud. But the crash comes when she finds out that he is her to a fiesta. His charming personalRamerres. The supports include an intriguing episode in the life of Colonel and Mrs Bruce, who fought the sleeping sickness plague in British Uganda.
