A PUBLIC HEALTH MENACE
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Could you inform me if it is an offence in Masterton, as in other progressive towns, to parade busy streets with dogs not held on a leash? I pity the poor dustmen and shop assistants whose duty is of a morning to handle a rubbish tin most flagrantly insanitated by these pests. A little more consideration on the part of the owners of Masterton’s increasing army of pet canines might result in some improvements in this direction. I am, etc. ‘•DISGUSTED CITIZEN.” Masterton. December 22.
There is nothing in the Borough bylaws compelling residents to keep their dogs on leash in Queen Street.
