CHRISTMAS TRADE
GOOD YEAR FOR MASTERTON FIRMS. SHOPS CROWDED YESTERDAY. A.s far as Masterton business firms are concerned. Christmas has arrived. Throughout yesterday, shops the length of Queen Street were packed with shoppers intent on filling their Christmas requirements. Unless trade shows an unexpected slackening off in the next two days, and there is no indication that it will, business firms anticipate one of the best years for some considerable time. While people are showing discrimination in their purchases, their purse strings are beingloosened more freely than they have been in any recent year.
