Mrs Fouhy, Lansdowne, is the guest of Mrs Baigent, Takaka. Mrs W. Sparks, of Te Puke, is the guest of Mrs R. L. Darley, Pahiatua. Miss Peggy Sellar, Colombo Road, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs W. Greer, who has been on * a visit to Masterton, returned to Christchurch today. Miss S. Polson, teacher of Tongariro, is spending the holiday vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs C. J. Polson, Bannister Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs N. H. James, Pownall Street, Masterton, will spend Christmas with Mr and Mrs S. Wilson, Auck-’ land.

Mr and Mrs E. P. Cameron and fam-' ily, who have been spending a few days in Masterton, have returned to Pohaua, Hinakura. Mr and Mrs A. W. Don and family, Hadlow, are spending the summer holidays camping at Brown’s Bay, Auckland.

Mr and Mrs J. Clachan, late of Hamilton, are staying with Mr and Mrs R. S. Pilmer, Whareama, before leaving for Canberra (Australia), early in the New Year.

. Mrs Don Lett, of Austinmer, New South Wales, and formerly a resident of Masterton, who has been recently visiting relatives here, left Auckland yesterday by the Awatea. Mrs Lett was accompanied by her’ daughter, Mrs V. A. Hannam.

On a holiday visit and also with the intention of participating in both the Wellington and New Zealand championships, two leading Australian women tennis players, Miss May Hardcastle (Queensland) and Miss Thelma Rice (New South Wales) arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella yesterday. They are to be the guests of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. Miss Hardcastle is ranked sixth in Australia, and this year was winner of the Australian women’s hard court doubles title and runner-up in the singles. She has twice won the singles ship of Queensland, and is one of the holders of the mixed and women’s doubles titles of her State. Miss Rice is a New South Wales interstate representative, and is ranked seventh in her State.
