SCOUT SURPRISE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) About twenty Scout friends took a surprise party to the residence of Mr J. A. Halpin on Monday night when a very happy time was spent with games, singing, and dancing. Christmas Party. The children of the Methodist Sunday School held their Christmas Party in the Methodist Hall on Monday night. After tea Father Christmas distributed presents to all the children who spent an enjoyable time playing games. Personal . Miss Jean Tulberry has been appointed clerk at the Greytown Hospital and will commence her duties shortly. Post and n"elegraph Holidays. The following are the Christmas and New Year holiday arrangements at the Featherston post office: — On Monday 26, Tuesday 27 and January 2, the post and telegraph office will be closed in all branches with the exception of the telephone exchange, which will remain open continuously as usual. On December 27 and January 2 mails for dispatch will close at 7.30 a.m. Street receivers will be cleared at 7 a.m. as usual on these days. A delivery of correspondence, including registered, will be made over the counter between 7 and 8 p.m. in the evenings of Saturday, December 24 and Saturday, December 31. Rural deliveries will be suspended on December 26 and Tuesday December 27 and Monday, January 2. The Featherston-Whararapa service will be run on Wednesday, December 28, instead of Tuesday, December 27.
