POLAND & GERMANY

CONVEYANCE OF VEILED WARNING. ACTIVITIES OF UKRAINE NATIONALISTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, December 19. A veiled warning to Germany apropos her aspirations for an independent Ukraine is contained in a memorandum from the Polish Charge d’Affaires to the Czechoslovakian Government in which attention is called to the activity of certain organisations within Czechoslovakia. The memorandum adds a warning that a continuance of these activities may be detrimental to Polish-Czech relations. It is pointed out that this obviously refers to the activities of the Ukraine Nationalists throughout Ruthenia who are openly supported by Germany and are working for the formation of an independent State. The Prague correspondent of “The Times” says that the Government has announced that it will thoroughly investigate the complaint and will not tolerate irridentist activites against foreign Powers.
