UNFOUNDED REPORT

ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO KILL MUSSOLINI EMBASSY DENIAL IN LONDON. STORY ENTIRELY GROUNDLESS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, December 16. The Italian Embassy, referring to a report of an attempt on Signor Mussolini’s life, says it is unaware of any such story and would certainly have been informed if an assassination had been attempted. Reuter’s Rome correspondent, at 7.15 p.m., states that nothing is known of the alleged attempt on the Duce’s life. A report which was published in an Australian paper is described as groundless. Further enquiry in Rome also elected that there was not a word of support for the story of an attempt on Mussolini’s life.
