IMPROPER ATTACK
BRITISH INDUSTRIALISTS & NEW ZEALAND LONDON PAPER’S COMMENT MENACE TC CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. December 16. The “News Chronicle.” in a leader today, says that ■'‘he attack made by the British Industries Federation on New Zealand’s import regulations is both improper and unconstitutional. “It is monstrous that, because New Zealand happens to have a Labour Government which is inifiat'ng certain experiments, British big business should threaten to force the Government to take reprisals. Such action both menaces constitutional government and the Dominion’s independence.
“Mr MacDonald recently spoke on ihe nationalism by which some dominions were bitten. We can imagine nothing so likely to break up the Empire as the federation’s economic nationalism.”
