BURNED TO DEATH.

CLOTHING CATCHES FIRE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 14.

The death of Mrs Sarah Elizabeth Jones, aged 73, widow, occurred in her home in Tuna last night as a result of burns received when her clothing caught fire. Early today the house was seen to be filled with smoke and a search revealed the body of’ Mrs Jones, who appeared to have been dead some hours. Investigation disclosed that Mrs Jones’s clothing had apparently caught alight from a radiator and that she had attempted to smother the flames with a blanket but had collapsed. The finding at the inquest in Stratford today was that death was accidental, caused by shock following burns.
