OBITUARY
MRS E. COOPER. The death of Mrs Eliza Cooper, wife of the late Mr Robert Cooper, of Hinana, Gladstone, which occurred in Masterton yesterday will be- deeply regretted net only by her immediate neignbours, but oy a very wide circle of mends throughout the Wairarapa. About six years ago Mrs Cooper underwent a serious operation, but with the aid of fier wonderfully cheerful disposition she was able to resume her many activities until about nine months ago, since when she has been almost continuously in a private hospital in Masterton, although able to visit her home at intervals. Mrs Cooper was born at Taratahi 71 years ago, and took a very active part In all women’s movements in the Gladstone district. She was a strong supporter of the Anglican Church and had very wide Christian sympathies. Wherever there was trouble in Carterton, Masterton- or in her own district, Mrs Cooper would be there to jive sympathetic and practical help, and the news of her death will be felt as a personal loss by a very large number of people. A keen gardener, and a real lover of nature brought her in touch with a still wider circle of friends. She leaves four sons (Messrs Robert Cooper, Christchurch, Jack, Charles, and David Cooper, Gladstone), and two daughters (Mrs M. Campbell, Clarevillo, and Miss C. Cooper, Gladstone).
The funeral will take place tomorrow after leaving Hinana at 1.30 p.m. for the Clareville cemetery.
