SYDNEY SALES. GOOD GENERAL COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. SYDNEY, December 13. At the wool sales today 11,002 bales were offered - and 9870 sold, also 562 privately. There was good general competition. Greasy Merino made to 23“ d. AUCKLAND CHEQUE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 13. The distribution to farmers in the Auckland Province for wool sold at the opening sale of the 1938-39 season was £339,896, compared with £201,700 last year. There was an almost total clearance of the 24,240 bales offered, 24,028 bales being sold. The total weight of wool sold was 8,356,4331 b, and the average price realised was 9.76 d a lb, or £l4 2s lid a bale, compared with 9.37 d a lb and £l3 10s 7d a bale for the opening sale of last year.
