ANCIENT LETTER
FOUR HUNDRED YEARS OLD. Workmen restoring the ancient castle of Tournon, on the banks of the Rhone, discovered a number of scrolls behind ,a rafter, among them a letter to the Cardinal of Tournon, minister and ambassador of Francis I, who founded a college there in 1536. The letter was from an Italian physician. It is dated 1536, and contains advice about what the cardinal should or should not eat to avoid gout, from which he was a sufferer.
