NEW EDINBURGH CHARITY

A company has been formed to administer a new permanent Edinburgh charity set up under the will of the late Mr Johnstone Christie Wright, who died in 1935, leaving personal or moveable estate in Scotland "amounting to the value of £18,938. Last month the Johnstone Wright fund was registered as a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital. The fund is to provide grants for needy gentlewomen of Scottish birth, and preferably connected with Edinburgh, who are widows or unmarried (and being widows or daughters of professional men or otherwise in a corresponding social and educational postion).
