BOY DROWNED
BODY FOUND IN RIVER

NELSON. December 9
A five-year-old boy. Edward Howard, was drowned in the Maitai River yesterday afternoon. He did not return from school so a search was instituted by his parents and his body was recovered some hours later.
The boy had fallen into the water while playing on the river bank.
